Area Arrests/Accidents 6-25-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:

Jeffrey E. Sides, 29, of 510 West First Street, Stonington, was arrested June 24 for disorderly conduct.

Brian E. McKinney, 44, of 1108 South 8th Street, Monmouth, was arrested June 24 for failure to appear or answer and driving on a suspended/revoked license.

 

ACCIDENTS:

On June 22, Isaiah D. Williams, 18, of Shelbyville was northbound on 2420 East Road. Williams stated he was being chased by Cole W. Martz, 20, of Shelbyville. Just north of 350 North, Williams lost control and entered the east ditch. As Williams re-entered the roadway, he made contact with the tires of Martz. Martz admitted to trying to catch Williams. Williams received both passenger and driver's side damage. Martz did not receive any damage. No injuries were reported.

On June 22, John E. Beyers, 39, of Pana, was eastbound on County Road 250 North. At approximately 2550 east, Beyers lost control when he encountered standing water. Beyers entered the north ditch and overturned. No injuries were reported.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:

On June 24 at 9:11pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to Hershey Towers in reference to a loud party. Following investigation, Hunter J. Oliver, 21, of Taylorville was arrested on an Effingham County failure to appear warrant.

On June 24 at 12:52 am, a Taylorville Police Department officer was sent to 2100 Drand Boulevard Apartments in reference of an intoxicated male. Upon arrival, the officer saw Richard B. Peat, Jr., 51, of Kincaid, in the parking lot being disruptive and combative toward others. The officer made contact and arrested Peat, Jr. for public intoxication. Upon further investigation, Peat, Jr. was also charged with battery. Peat, Jr. was transported to Taylorville Police Department for processing and was released on a notice to appear.

 

ACCIDENTS:

On June 21, Devin D. Baker, 18, of Pana, was traveling south on Cheney Street when Cassandra S. Agnew, 33, of Taylorville failed to yield at the intersection and struck Baker in the rear passenger side door. Both vehicles were moved prior to officers arrival. No injuries were reported. Agnew was charged with failure to yield.
