Area Arrests/Accidents 6-21-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ACCIDENTS:

On June 17, Catherine A. Mudd, 27, of Mt. Auburn was parked on the north side of East Chapel Street, approximately 1/10 of a mile west of North Maple Street in Mt. Burn. Mudd was parked legally facing westbound. Mudd also had a trailer attached to the rear of the vehicle. Larry R. Werve, 62, of Mt. Auburn was parked across the street in a parking area of the property, located at 207 East Chapel Street. Werve stated he began to back up and did not see Mudd parked across the street. Werve backed in a southeast direction onto Chapel Street attempting to proceed westbound. Werve then struck Mudd. Werve received rear and passenger side damage. Mudd received driver's side and rear damage. No injuries were reported.

 

INCIDENTS:

On June 19th at approximately 8:53am, Christian County 911 received a call from a rural Mechanicsburg residence of a 32 year old unresponsive male. The male, identified as Nickolas J. Melton, was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Christian County Sheriff's Office, Mt. Aubrun Fire District, and Sutton's Ambulance arrived at the scene. The incident is under investigation by the Christian County Coroner and the Christian County Sheriff's Office with toxicology results pending.

 

On June 20, Doug Downs, 50, Moweaqua, contacted the Christian County Sheriff's Office to reports a theft. Sometime between the hours of 12:00am and 3:00am, unknown subject or subjects broke the lock on his machine shed located at 2157 East 1880 North Road. Once inside, the subject or subjects removed approximately 30 large semi batteries.

 

On June 21, Hattie M. Brockelsby, 62, of Taylorville, contacted the Christian County Sheriff's Office to reports unknown subject(s) cut the hose to her pool located at 1270 East 1900 North Road. The incident occurred sometime between 9:30pm on June 20 and 6:30am on June 21.

 

ARRESTS:

Leda L. Ward, 37, of 218 West Boyd, Taylorville, was arrested on June 20 for possession of cannabis.

Ronald E. Hall, 40, of 430 South Walnut Street, Taylorville, was arrested on June 20 for failure to appear.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On June 20 at 5:47pm, a Taylorville Police Department officers were out at 430 South Walnut Street. Officers made contact with Ronald E. Hall Jr., 40, of Taylorville who had a valid Christian County warrant. The warrant was confirmed through the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System and Hall, Jr. was arrested and transported to Christian County Correctional Center
