Tim Butler, District Chief of Staff for Congressman Rodney Davis, was Tuesday’s guest speaker at the weekly meeting of the Taylorville Kiwanis Club at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium.
Butler worked for Congressman Ray LaHood for 14 years, and is a native of Peoria. He worked on Davis’ campaign, and later helped him set up 3 district offices in Taylorville, Decatur, and Champaign. 2 more offices are expected to be opened.
Butler told the Taylorville Kiwanis members that Congress passing a farm bill is high on Congressman Davis’ agenda.
And, Butler added that the recent controversies in Washington, is asking for more accountability by the Congress, from the Obama administration.
Butler added the Taylorville congressman still gets back home on weekends.
Congressman Davis serves on the House Agriculture and Transportation Committees.
