Taylorville Police Receive Report of Suspicious Activity Near North School

On Saturday June 15th around 10:35 am, the Taylorville Police Department received information of suspicious activity at the North Elementary School. A woman told police that her son rode his bicycle to North School to play on the playground equipment. While he was riding his bike on the concrete walkway, he fell off. After sitting up, he saw a male subject stop his van, get out, and begin to walk towards the boy with his arms extended out. As the boy got up, the male subject allegedly attempted to put his arms around him but the boy jumped on his bike and rode away. The boy reportedly never heard the male subject say anything and saw the man get back in his van and drive off.

The male subject was described as tall with short brown/blondish hair. He was thin, with no facial hair and he was wearing blue jeans, a plain white t-shirt, and black sneakers. The van was described as a plain white full size Chevy with two windows on the front side and two windows on the back doors. The intent of the male subject is unknown. If you have any information concerning this incident or if you were in the area during the time of the incident and might have seen something, call the Taylorville Police Department at 824-2211.
