Rosenthal Supports Fracking

There is a major divide growing in the Illinois Democratic Party regarding fracking, the process of extracting petroleum products from deep underground.  Democratic Governor Pat Quinn enthusiastically supports it.  But Democratic House Speaker Mike Madigan recently called for a 2 year moratorium on the practice.

Republican Representative Wayne Rosenthal of Morrisonville agrees with the governor:

Opponents say fracking, which uses high pressure water to extract the petroleum, pollutes the water systems.  Supporters like Rosenthal say fracking means jobs for Illinois, and reduces our dependence on foreign oil.
