Area Arrests/Traffic Accidents 3-5-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS

Sean M. Lewis, 29, of Macon, was arrested on March 4 on an original arrest warrant for driving with a suspended license. 

TRAFFIC

Timothy E. Sparling, 49, of Taylorville, was stopped on traffic to turn left on Rt. 104 facing west at Broaddus Road.  Daniel J. Krajec, 32, of Taylorville, was eastbound on Rt. 104.  Sparling noticed a vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed from behind.  Sparling turned left onto Broaddus Road to avoid being struck in the rear-end.  Krajec was unable to stop his 1994 Ford F350 Series and struck Sparling in the rear-end of his 2002 Chevrolet Malibu.

Debra S. Ryan, 58, of Pana, was traveling northbound on township road 1600 East approaching the intersection with township road 700 North.  Ryan lost control on th snow/ice covered roadway, left the roadway at the northeast corner of the intersection.  She traveled approximately 25 ft. in her 2005 GM before striking a guy wire, attached to a utility pole.  She also struck the County Road marker sign and came to rest.  Ryan received front end damage. 

Daniel J. Ehrhardt, 20, of Taylorville, was southbound on County Highway 1.  There was snow and ice on the roadway.  Ehrhardt was just south of 650 North Rd when he hit a patch of ice and slide sideways down into the left hand ditch.  He traveled approximately 90 ft. along the ditch before coming to rest facing west in his 2000 Honda Accord. 

Karen F. Reynolds, 44, of Nokomis, was traveling south on County 1.  She said that a rear tire had a blow out and she lost control and drove off the shoulder and down into a ditch.  She overturned in her 2000 Dodge Durango and come to rest on its roof.
