>>Illinois Falls In Battle Of Big Ten Powers

(Champaign, IL)  -- As heard on Newstalk 97.3 WTIM, Number-10 Minnesota won a battle of two highly-ranked college basketball teams with the Golden Gophers' 84-67 win over 13th-ranked Illinois Wednesday.  Brandon
Paul led the Fighting Illini with 21 points in defeat.  Illinois fell to
14-and-3 and travels to Wisconsin for a Saturday game.

>>No New Members Elected To Baseball Hall Of Fame

(Undated)  --  There are no new members heading to the National Baseball Hall of Fame this
year.  None of the eligible candidates received the required 75-percent of votes
from the Baseball Writers' Association of America for election.  Former Cardinal
pitcher Lee Smith received 47.8 percent of votes.  Mark McGwire got 16.9 percent
and Larry Walker had 21.6 percent.

>>Bucks Sneak By Bulls

(Chicago, IL)  --  Carlos Boozer posted a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds but the Bulls lost to the Bucks 104-96 Wednesday.  Milwaukee is now 2-and-0 under Jim Boylan since they agreed
to part ways with Scott Skiles.  Nate Robinson added 19 points, six assists,
five rebounds and five steals for the Bulls.  Chicago fell to 19-and-14.

>>Eagles Interview Notre Dame's Kelly

(Philadelphia, PA)  --  The Eagles have reportedly interviewed Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly for their
vacant head coaching position.  Multiple reports say the Eagles interviewed
Kelly following Notre Dame's loss to Alabama in Monday's BCS title game.  The
report says the sides have mutual interest and will speak again when Kelly
returns from vacation out of the country.
