>>Illinois Loses At Purdue

(West Lafayette, IN)  -- As heard on Newstalk 97.3 WTIM Brandon Paul scored 15 points as number-14 Illinois fell to Purdue, 68-61.  Joseph Bertrand added 14 points off the bench for the Illini, who drop to 13-and-2 and 0-and-1 in the Big Ten. The Illini host Ohio State on Saturday.

>>Bulls Hold Off Magic

(Orlando, FL)  --  Carlos Boozer totalled 31 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Bulls to a 96-94 win over the Magic.  Taj Gibson also had 11 boards to go with 21 points and four blocks for Chicago,
which has won two-of-three overall.  Luol Deng chipped in with 23 points in the
win.  The Bulls are at Miami on Friday.

>>Rams Cutting Ties With Williams Duo

(St. Louis, MO.)  --  The St. Louis Rams are severing ties with suspended defensive coordinator Gregg
Williams.  FoxSports.com reported that linebackers coach and son Blake Williams
has informed teams that he and his father are no longer part of the Rams
organization.  Gregg Williams is under contract through 2014, but has yet to be
reinstated by the NFL following an indefinite suspension for his role in the
Saints bounty scandal.

>>Cubs Ink Jackson

(Chicago, IL)  --  The Cubs made it official with free agent Edwin Jackson, signing the pitcher to a four-year contract on Wednesday.  The deal had previously been reported to be worth $52-million.  The
29-year-old former White Sox starter will be joining his eighth club since
debuting in the majors in 2003.  He made 31 starts last season with the
Washington Nationals, going 10-and-11 with a 4.03 ERA.
