Taylorville Park Board Discusses Security System at the Park Pool

The Taylorville Park Board moved to replace 2 exterior motion sensors on the existing security system at the park pool. Wareham Security submitted 2 options for replacement of the faulty sensors. The first to replace with the closest replacement available since the present system is obsolete, would costs $297 plus $160 labor. However, these replacements would not be as effective as the present sensors. The second option was to replace with a new control system that allows for wireless sensors. The costs for the wireless system would be $899 for parts and $300 for labor. After much discussion, it was agreed by all present that the system needed upgrading so the bid for the wireless system was accepted.

The Park and Finance director reported that all the figures for Christmas in the Park were not yet available, however, a total of 4091 vehicles were counted for having viewed the displays and a total of $9844.67 was collected through donations at the park. This figure was down approximately $400 from last year, but it was felt to be a good response considering Christmas in the Park was decreased from 17 nights to 14 this year.

In other business, the Treasurer’s report for November 2012 stated a beginning balance of $478,954.31 with receipts of $71,340.59 and expenditures of $44;999.50, leaving a balance of $513,561.16.

At approximately 7:20 the board approved the motion to go to Executive Session to discuss personal matters.
