Christian County Board Talks About the Issue of Truancy in Schools

The Christian County Board met last evening and one issue that was discussed at the meeting was a new process to fill employee vacancies.

Christian County Board Chairman Paul Schmitz says that this new process will make filling these vacancies happen quicker.

Another motion discussed was the new rolling filing system proposed by Christian County State’s Attorney Mike Havera.

Schmitz says that this change will give more room for files in the future and is a newer system.

That motion passed unanimously at the meeting.

An issue brought by Marchelle Kassebaum, the Regional Office of Education Christian-Montgomery Counties Superintendent, in her report to the County Board was the issue of truancy in schools. Schmitz says that he likes the idea that Kassebaum had to cut down truancy.

The next Christian County Board meeting is scheduled for January 15th of 2013.
