When driving past a Consolidated Communications building in Taylorville you may notice some workers picketing in front of Consolidated.
The Senior Vice President of Consolidated Communications Steve Shirar (shy-er) says that the main reason for the union workers picketing is a difference on the issue of pensions.

Shirar says that he does not believe that the loss of union workers will hurt Consolidated customers.

We reached Brad Beisner with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 702 for a statement, and after repeated attempts Beisner refused comment.
