A 16 year old male from Rochester was driving his Ford Ranger, and was exiting the Stevenson Drive ramp to enter Interstate 55 southbound.  The teenage male driving the Ford Ranger lost control of the pickup on the wet pavement and skidded out of control. In the vehicle with him was a 19 year old male also from Rochester. 

A 54 year old male from Morton was driving a tractor trailer and struck the pickup in the right lane of traffic.  The tractor trailer overturned on its side, blocking the interstate.  The Interstate was then partially closed for an extended period due to the cleanup. 

 The 54 year old male of Morton had to be removed from the tractor trailer by the Springfield Fire Department.  He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
