After further discussion it was decided to change the hours of operation at the Don Bragg Sports Complex to 7 am until 4 pm. This time change will last over the winter months from November 1st to March 1st from now on.

Jason Boldig General Manager of Lakeshore Golf Course was at the meeting and discussed the season at Lakeshore Golf Course. Boldig says that even though the golf course was a bit short of their goal in rounds played, there was still some growth.

Also introduced at the meeting was the new President of Red Bland Little League, Rob Thomason. Thomason talked to the Park Board about possibly using the lights donated to the little league for the fields. These lights were used at Busch Stadium.

Also discussed at the meeting was a motion for the Red Bland Little League to reimburse the park district for paint striping the ball diamonds like the Taylorville Youth Football and Taylorville Junior Football teams do.

Board Trustee Don Bragg said that he believed the park district should give the little league a year to see how much the district spends on paint striping the diamonds.

The park board agreed with Bragg’s idea, and decided to have one year to see how much is spent on striping the fields so the board can give Red Bland Little League a better estimate.

Also discussed at the meeting was the Christmas Bonuses for Park District employees. These bonuses were passed unanimously. The bonuses were the same as years previous at $100 for full time employees and $50 for part time park employees. Another motion passed at the meeting was a motion to shut the lights off at the Boy Scout Pavilion and the Chautauqua Building for winter. That motion passed unanimously.

One of the last things discussed at the meeting was Christmas in the Park. Park Recreation Director Bailey Hancock says things are going smoothly and that she will be discussing Christmas in the Park further on the radio soon.
