Pro Shot Site Plan Approved

The Taylorville City Council unanimously approved the site plan for Pro Shot with a few minor adjustments. Pro Shot, a new business looking to locate in Taylorville asked for variances in the number of parking spaces required for the square footage of their site as well as a variance in the need for a sidewalk. Pro Shot, a company that operates in 43 countries, will be operating from a warehouse structure and will only have the need for 18 parking spaces and considering their location, if they are required to put sidewalks in, they would be the only business in that area to have them. After little discussion, the variances were approved.

The Council was prepared to receive bids on the property at 26 Illini Drive in Taylorville. Having received none, Alderman Walters asked that the Council be diligent in finding a way to get the property into the hands of a citizen. In other business, Cindy Brown was sworn in as Human Resource Manager. Also, the Council approved an additional $1250 payment to Aviation Insurance Managers, Inc. for additional insurance to further protect the City of Taylorville for the use of the airport by the Mid America Sport Parachute Club. It was also agreed to waive the water tapping fees for Gowin Parc in lieu of their installing a fire hydrant.

He also extended his congratulations to Carol Alexander on her publication of her new book, “The Big Squeal”.
