>>Bears' Tillman Earns NFC Weekly Honors

(New York, NY)  --  Bears cornerback Charles Tillman was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for
Week Seven yesterday.  Tillman forced two fumbles and posted seven tackles in
Monday's 13-7 win over the Detroit Lions.  He becomes the first Bears player to
win the award in consecutive games, as he earned the honor in Week Five prior to
the bye.

>>Bulls' Hinrich Suffers Groin Strain; Team Waives Jaric, Allen

(Chicago, IL)  --  Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich has reportedly suffered a right groin strain.  The team website says Hinrich suffered the injury in Tuesday's 94-89 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.  He left at
halftime and did not return.  The injury is a huge blow to the Bulls, who were
counting on Hinrich to fill in while guard Derrick Rose recovers from knee
surgery.  In other team news, the Bulls waived guards Ryan Allen and Marko
Jaric.

>>NHL Commissioner Says 82-Game Season Unlikely

(Brooklyn, NY) --  NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman is conceding that an 82-game regular season is
unlikely.  Speaking at a press conference to announce the New York Islanders'
pending move to Brooklyn yesterday, Bettman said the union has opted not to
negotiate off the league's proposal from last week that called for a 50-50 split
of revenue.  Bettman says a labor deal would have to be in place by Thursday in
order for that to happen and the two sides aren't even talking.

>>James Franklin Doubtful

(Columbia, MO)  --  Missouri Tigers quarterback James Franklin is doubtful for Saturday's game against Kentucky.  Franklin injured his knee October 6th against Vanderbilt.  The Tigers are
3-and-4 on the season and have yet to win a SEC game in four tries.
