>>Cardinals Blank Astros, Still Hold Wild Card Spot

(Houston, TX)  --  Jaime [[ HIGH-may ]] Garcia tossed seven scoreless innings to lead the
Cardinals in a 4-0 win over Houston.  Jon Jay had a pair of RBI while Pete Kozma
added an RBI double for St. Louis.  Yadier Molina also drove in a run for the
Cards, who are four-and-a-half games up on the Brewers and Dodgers for the final
NL Wild Card spot.  The Redbirds send Chris Carpenter to the mound in tonight's
series finale against Houston's Bud Norris.

>>Rockies Rip Cubs

(Denver, CO)  --  Matt McBride hit a three-run homer as the Rockies
ripped the Cubs, 10-5, in a rain-shortened opener of a three-game series.  The
game was called in the seventh inning.  Dave Sappelt and Starlin Castro went
deep for Chicago, which has dropped seven-of-eight.  Chris Rusin allowed six
runs in only three-and-two-thirds to fall to 1-and-3.  The Cubs send Jason
Berken to the mound this evening against Drew Pomeranz in the middle contest of
a three-game set.

>>Indians Edge White Sox

(Chicago, IL)  --  Corey Kluber and two relievers combined on a six-hitter as the Indians edged the White Sox, 4-3, yesterday afternoon at The Cell.  Francisco Liriano took the loss for Chicago. 
A.J. Pierzynski [[ peer-ZIN-skee ]] and Dayan Viciedo hit back-to-back home runs
in the fifth frame and Paul Konerko added another solo shot in the ninth for the
White Sox.  Chicago is now tied with Detroit atop the AL Central after the
Tigers beat Kansas City.  Hector Santiago gets the nod opposite Justin Masterson
in tonight's series finale.

>>Report:  Bears Work Out RB Ryan Grant

(Lake Forest, IL)  --  The Bears reportedly worked out former Packers running back Ryan Grant on Tuesday.  The Notre Dame product, who spent five seasons with Green Bay, has rushed for
over four-thousand yards and 25 touchdowns in his career.  The Bears could use
some depth at the running back position with Matt Forte [[ for-TAY ]] out with
an ankle injury and backup Michael Bush a little banged up during Week Three's
win over St. Louis.  Chicago plays at Dallas in Week Four on "Monday Night
Football."

>>Rams Gear Up For Seahawks

(Earth City, MO)  --  The Rams are back to work today in preparation for Sunday's home game against the Seattle Seahawks.  St. Louis suffered a 23-6 loss at Chicago on Sunday to drop to
1-and-2 on the young season.  The Hawks will enter Sunday's tilt at 2-and-1
after a controversial victory over the Packers on "Monday Night Football."
