>>White Sox Trim Tigers To Pad AL Central Lead

(Chicago, IL)  -- Omar Infante's throwing error on a potential double play relay let the tying and
go-ahead runs score as the White Sox trimmed the Tigers, 5-4.  Alex Rios took
out Infante with a hard slide that led to the errant throw and helped Chicago
extend its AL Central lead to three games over Detroit.  The White Sox face the
Royals in Kansas City at 7:10.

>>Pirates Shutout Cubs

(Chicago, IL)  --  Kevin Correia and two relievers combined on a
two-hitter as the Pirates blanked the Cubs, 3-0, in the finale of a four-game
series.  Rain delayed the start of the game for nearly four hours.  Travis Wood
allowed all three runs in five-and-two-thirds innings to fall to 6-and-12 for
the Cubs, who split the series.  The Cubs host the Reds at 7:05.

>>Forte Battling Ankle Sprain

(Lake Forest, IL)  --  Bears head coach Lovie Smith says running back Matt Forte [[ FOR-tay ]] is battling a
sprained right ankle.  Smith also said the injury is not a high ankle sprain and
Forte has not been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams.  Forte suffered
the injury last Thursday.

>>Rams' Fisher Clarifies Jackson Situation

(Earth City, MO)  --  Rams head coach Jeff Fisher spoke to the media yesterday about Steven Jackson
and his apparent injury from Sunday's game.  Fisher reiterated that the running
back's groin was tight and the team chose not to risk further injury.  He added
that Jackson was not benched for spiking the ball after what he thought was a
touchdown, resulting in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.  The Rams head to
Chicago to battle the Bears on Sunday.
