The Taylorville Police are investigating a pair of apparent arsons that took place over the holiday weekend, and a suspect is being sought.

It started Sunday morning at 6:15 when police and firefighters were sent to 821 West Vanderveer Street in Taylorville on reports of a fire.

The blaze was extinguished and no one was hurt. Then Monday, they were called again to the same location. This time extensive damage was done to the home and to a neighbor's adjacent garage.

According to a press release issued by the Taylorville Police Department, evidence showed that the fires were intentionally set. The State Fire Marshal's Office was then contacted.

A suspect Christopher A. Harwood 38, of Taylorville is being sought and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.
