Remnants of Hurricane Isaac Pounding Central Illinois Over Labor Day Holiday Weekend

The remnants of Hurricane Isaac continue to affect the Regional Radio listening area thru this Labor Day holiday weekend.

Anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of rain came down across Central Illinois, from Friday thru 7am Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service expects another 2 to 4 inches for the area, thru the remainder of the Labor Day holiday weekend.

The Weather Service says the remnants of Isaac were nearly stationary over parts of southwest Missouri and should not move too much thru the weekend. Bands of moderate to locally heavy rain were rotating north and northwest across our area and expect this to continue. Scattered thunderstorms may form again over parts of the area with one or two of the storms possibly producing gusty winds. The weakening low pressure area will edge across south central Illinois Sunday bringing another rainy day to most of the area. Rain chances should begin to diminish from west to east on Monday as the low pushes well off to our east.

Stay tuned to this Regional Radio station, and on the Internet continue to go to our on-line daily newspaper, for the latest developments as Isaac continues to move slowly to the east.
