The drought has been hurting many communities in Central Illinois and Taylorville is currently in a voluntary water restriction because of the dry conditions.
Taylorville Mayor Greg Brotherton says that the water levels at Lake Taylorville are pretty good considering the conditions.

Brotherton says that he does not foresee going into the second stage of the water restriction.

Stage two of the plan would restrict watering lawns, use of water for cleaning buildings and use of fountains, among other things.
