John Livesay Announces Retirement from First National Bank of Pana; Matt Beavers to Succeed

 width=John Livesay, President and CEO of First National Bank of Pana, today announced his retirement as President effective September 4th.  

The bank also announced today that Matthew Beavers has been named President and Chief Lending Officer effective September 4th.

 width=According to the bank, Matt is a veteran in commercial lending, with 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Previously, he was Senior Vice President in the Commercial Lending Division of First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust, Decatur. Prior to joining First Mid, he spent 11 years in commercial lending for Busey Bank also in Decatur.

A native of Christian County, Matt grew up in Taylorville where he met his wife, Colleen, and currently reside in Mt. Zion, IL. They have three Children, Ryan (17), Nicole, (14), and Jacob (11).
Matt holds a Master of Business Administration from Bradley University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University. In addition, Matt plans to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in December. He is also a graduate of both the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the Illinois School of Banking.

Currently, Matt is a board member for the Central Illinois Red Cross and the Macon County 4-H & Extension Foundation. Matt is a past trustee for the Village of Mt. Zion; Board Member for the Mt. Zion Economic Development Commission; Mt. Zion Youth Basketball Board Member and past President; and a past member of the Decatur Home Builders Association. His community involvement includes Decatur Leadership Institute Class of 2005; Past Board Member of Central Illinois RMA; volunteer instructor and fund raiser for Junior Achievement; and past member of the Decatur Kiwanis.

Mr. Livesay has been with the bank for 27 years and plans to continue on as the bank’s Chief Executive Officer until March 2014.  Livesay has been active in the Pana community during his tenure as bank president, and has also been a member of the Lake Land College Foundation Board.
