Taylorville Mayor Greg Brotherton is thanking those who helped in Saturday's plane crash. The mayor said those on the scene were grateful to residents of the neighborhood where the twin-engine plane went down just before 11:00 am.

The pilot of the plane, 30-year old Brandon Sparrow of Augusta Illinois was killed when the twin-engine Beechcraft nosedived into a yard near Rich Street in Taylorville. No one on the ground was injured.
