Taylorville Mayor Greg Brotherton is instituting a stage one water conservation warning. Stage one of the plan is a request for voluntary measures, in which people and businesses are urged to conserve water in every way possible.

Stage two of the plan would restrict watering lawns, use of water for cleaning buildings and use of fountains, among other things. Stage three would be even more restrictive.Mayor Brotherton says the text of the water conservation plan can be found at the city's website.
