26 Illinois counties are currently listed as disaster areas because of the severe drought conditions in the state.
With these drought conditions many communities may have to ration water. One community that is currently conserving water, but not rationing is Mt. Auburn.
Mt. Auburn Mayor Betty Rankin says that the water usage is being monitored in Mt. Auburn.
Another community that is currently conserving water, but not rationing is Hillsboro. Hillsboro Mayor John Downs says that Hillsboro has an ordinance in place to conserve water.
Neither Hillsboro nor Mt. Auburn are expected to receive any rain this upcoming week.
