Central Illinois Public Transit Wants to Keep Citizens Cool

Temperatures were got into the triple digits last week. Some people might need a place to cool down in this extreme heat.

Paula White Office Manager for the Central Illinois Public Transit Shelby and Effingham Counties says that she wants to make sure seniors are taken care of.

White says that you can contact the Shelbyville office to get picked up.

There are cooling centers in each county to keep citizens from heat exhaustion.

The cooling centers are located at the Human Services building in each county. In Shelby County the building is located at 610 West Main Street in Shelbyville, and in Christian County the building is located at 1100 North Cheney Street in Taylorville.
