In the race in the 13th District for US Congress a lot of the talk has been on the Republican side, as the Republicans have had to find a replacement for former Congressman Tim Johnson who announced his retirement in April at the end of this term. Johnson’s replacement, Taylorville native Rodney Davis was announced on Saturday.
Dr. David Gill of Bloomington is running as the Democrat against Davis in the 13th district. Gill is an ER doctor and says his experience as a doctor can help him in Congress.

Gill also says that although he likes some things about the Affordable Care Act (Obama care), but is not a big fan of the bill.

David Gill won a closely contested primary against Green County State’s Attorney Matthew Goetten in March.
