Wines were the topic at Friday night’s 105th annual meeting of the Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium. Guest speaker for the evening was Doctor Larry Jackson, a senior research scientist at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, who is also the owner of Tuscan Hills Winery in Effingham.
Jackson told the gathering how he got into the wine business, and how the flavors and colors of wines vary by region of the country and the world. Jackson told Regional Radio News about his journey into the wine business.
And, Jackson added that his day job at the U of I involves digital projects.
Jackson’s winery is located just outside of Effingham.
