Route 29 may have a new look in a few years, and that will mean bypassing Edinburg to the east.
Sal Madonia the Program Engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation District 6 says that the bypass option was preferred.

Madonia says that the new edition to Route 29 will resemble the other sections of Route 29.

Madonia says that when the project is built will be dependent on weather conditions.

There is will also be exits that will lead into Edinburg with the new bypass on Route 29.
