Tryouts Being Held for Springfield Foxes Football Team

After a 4-4 campaign in 2011, the Foxes are looking forward to bigger and better things in 2012. The season starts on April 28th with their annual fundraising auction and player awards. The even will be hosted Saturday at the American Legion in Kincaid.

The Foxes would like to invite everyone to enjoy some food, a DJ, meet the team, and to the live auction. The doors open at 5 p.m., player awards at 5:30, and the auction will begin at 6:00. There will be plenty of sports memorabilia, amongst other things to be auctioned off.

Along with the auction, there will also be a 50/50 raffle and a separate raffle for an Xbox 360. There is no entry fee to enter the event.

Also on May 5th, the Foxes will be hosting the first try-outs of the 2012 season. The first round of try-outs will be held at Lincoln Park in Springfield. Cost to try-out is $20.00 and does include a t-shirt. The drills will include a shuttle run, 40 yard dash, and many others including agility drills.

The team does prefer interested players to pre-register online at www.springfieldfoxes.com, but it is not required, as players can sign up the day of.
