According to reports there was a hit and run accident that occurred on Thursday. Officers were advised via 911 that a hit and run accident just occurred at the intersection of Springfield Road and North Cheney Street

911 said that one vehicle was a blue chevy cobalt and it had pulled into the Bob Ridings car lot and the other vehicle was a grey Cadillac which had left the scene.

Officers were unable to locate the grey Cadillac when they arrived on the scene. One hour later the grey Cadillac was located at 525 South Main Street.

33 year old James B. Burgess of Taylorville was arrested for obstructing and was issued several traffic citations which included failure to reduce speed, leaving the scene, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and failure to report an accident. Burgess was processed and transported to the Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.
