Teen Suicide a Real Issue

According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention 4,371 people from the ages of 15-24 committed suicide last year, and every 14.2 minutes someone in the world dies from suicide.

With suicide becoming a bigger issue with teenagers David Parnell who attempted suicide twice and was also a meth addict, came to speak at Taylorville High School in front of Taylorville, Kincaid, and Edinburg students.

Parnell says that his suicide attempts were because of drug use.

Parnell says he would tell teens contemplating suicide that it will get better.

Parnell says he speaks to high school students because he does not want young people to make the same mistakes he made.
