Shaka Smart has turned down Illinois' offer to become their new men's basketball coach. Multiple reports say Smart plans on staying at VCU, where he led them into the third round of the NCAA tournament.
Illinois was hoping Smart would replace Bruce Weber, who was fired soon after the Illini were eliminated from the Big Ten Tournament.
