On Tuesday officers responded to a two vehicle accident at Springfield Rd. and Cheney Street Jennifer M. Chronister 24, of Taylorville said that the light turned green and she thought Samuel A. Strohl, 82, of Shelbyville moved forward and she could not get stopped and struck the rear end of Strohl's 2002 Buick Park Avenue with her 2004 Pontiac Grand Am.
Strohl said he was stopped at the traffic light and was struck in the rear end by Chronister. No injuries were reported.
Chronister was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving on a revoked license. Chronister's Grand Am was towed from the scene.
