Familiar Face Land in New Place

Linda Whitlow of Taylorville, a familiar face in the restaurant business, has opened her new restaurant, Linda’s Place in Kincaid. Many of you may remember Linda from her 34 years at Angelo’s in Taylorville. She spent most of those years as a waitress, with the last 4 managing. After leaving Angelo’s, Linda opened the first restaurant to carry her name, Linda’s Place, in her hometown of Blue Mound. It had been a life-long dream of hers to own a restaurant. After 4 successful years, Linda sold the restaurant back to the original owners.

Linda spent some time on herself after selling the restaurant. While she was looking for a job, the opportunity came to open the restaurant in Kincaid where the old Starlite operated for many years. She has been open for a little over a month and has been excited about the response. The town of Kincaid is excited about having a restaurant. Linda’s is open Tuesday thru Thursday from 7 to 8, Friday 7 to 10, Saturday 7 to 8 and Sunday 8 to 4. Daily specials are offered including such staples at chicken and noodles, fried chicken, pork roast and all you can eat walleye every Friday. Many of the recipes for her specials were handed down from Linda’s mother.

The menu also features sandwiches, salads, appetizers, breakfast and  pizzas.
