Christian County Court Cases 05/30/2023

The following court cases was heard on May 30th, 2023:

 

Tavonn Adams: Defendant present in custody with counsel and State's Attorney present. PC found over the weekend by Judge Frisch and bond set at $15,000. SA McWard has conflict and will seek appointment of Special Prosecutor Defendant will post bond today. First appearance with counsel 6-13-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Kyle Adler: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Case called for preliminary hearing. Officer sworn and testifies. Court finds probable cause. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty and demands trial by jury.By agreement, final pretrial hearing scheduled for 7-25-23 at 1:15 p.m. Jury trial scheduled for 8-7-23 at 8:30 a.m. Both hearings are in person. Parties ordered to file pretrial motions at least 30 days before the jury trial to be heard
at the final pretrial hearing. Trial in abstentia admonition given.

 

Kevin Carrell: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Case called for hearing on Defendant's application for recognizance bond or reduction. Arguments heard. Bond reduced to $20,000. Defendant admonished and consents to 402 conference which is set 6-19-23 at 8:45 a.m.

 

Matthew Cunningham: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 7-11-23 at 10 a.m. Defendant made a counter offer and State needs time to review same. If no resolution at next hearing, PTR hearing will be set.

 

Susan Fisher: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 7-7-23 at 10 a.m. PSC referral pending.

 

Ashley Layton: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Case called for preliminary hearing. Officer sworn and testifies. Court finds probable cause. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 7-17-23 at 10 a.m. State has made plea offer and will answer discovery this week.

 

Jason Lindsey: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8-21-23 at 10 a.m. State has answered discovery and made plea offer today.

 

Dennis Lowe IIII: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Defendant knowingly and voluntarily waives preliminary hearing. See written waiver. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty, and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 8-1-23 at 10
a.m.

 

Drakeem Manning: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Case called for hearing on Defendant's Motion for Bond Reduction. Defendant sworn and testifies. Arguments heard. Motion denied for reasons stated on the record. Case called for hearing on an oral motion for furlough for substance abuse treatment. Motion granted over objection of State. Defendant to be screened by Safe Passage. Written order to follow. Defendant ordered not to be released until a written order is entered with specfifics of treatment. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 6-6-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Dana Melvin: Defendant present in custody with Assistant Public Defender Grigsby and State's Attorney present. Case called for hearing on Defendant's Motion for Bond Reduction. Arguments heard. Motion granted for reasons stated on the record. Bond reduced to $5000.

 

James Middleton: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8-21-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Roy Timmes: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Case called for preliminary hearing. Officer sworn and testifies. Court finds probable cause. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty and demands trial by jury. By agreement, final pretrial
hearing scheduled for 7-25-23 at 1:15 p.m. Jury trial scheduled for 8-7-23 at 8:30 a.m. Both hearings are in person. Parties ordered to file pretrial motions at least 30 days before the jury trial to be heard at the final pretrial hearing. Trial in abstentia admonition given.

 

Charles Tucker: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, final pretrial hearing scheduled for 10-24-23 at 1:15 p.m. Jury trial scheduled for 11-6-23 at 8:30 a.m. Both hearings are in person. Parties ordered to file pretrial motions at least 30 days before the jury trial to be heard at the final pretrial hearing. Trial in abstentia admonition given.

 

Clint Varese: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8-1-23 at 10 a.m. Matter will be set for trial if no plea at next hearing.
