Christian County Court Cases 05/09/2023

The following court case was heard on May 9th, 2023:

 

Daniel Brest: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, case continued for presentation of negotiated plea on 5-15-23 at 9 a.m.

 

Leroy Casson: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, final pretrial hearing scheduled for 7-25-23 at 1:15 p.m. Jury trial scheduled for 8-7-23 at 8:30 a.m. Both hearings are in person. Parties ordered to file pretrial motions at least 30 days before the jury trial to be heard at the final pretrial hearing. Trial in abstentia admonition given.

 

Devon Gatons: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 6-19-23 at 10 a.m. Problem-solving court referral pending.

 

 

Debbie Horn: Defendant present with Public Defender Grigsby and State's Attorney present. By agreement, motion for fitness evaluation granted. Written order to follow. Furlough order vacated by agreement of the parties. 6-2-23 hearing vacated. Status on fitness evaluation report 6-23-23
at 10 a.m.

 

Tylour Howard:  Defendant present with Public Defender Herkert and SP DePaepe present. Defendant knowingly and voluntarily waives preliminary hearing. See written waiver to follow. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty, and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 6-20-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Austin Mayes: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Defendant just received the report. Status hearing continued to 5-15-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Andrew McDonald: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, final pretrial hearing scheduled for 9-19-23 at 1:15 p.m. Jury trial scheduled for 10-2-23 at 8:30 a.m. Both hearings are in person. Parties ordered to file pretrial motions at least 30 days before the jury trial to be heard at the final pretrial hearing. Trial in abstentia admonition given. All other matters set for pretrial at final pretrial date.

 

Mitchell Neece: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Case called for preliminary hearing. Officer sworn and testifies. Court finds probable cause. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 5-15-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Justin Price: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 7-17-23 at 10 a.m. State made plea offer.

 

Jacob Samson: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 5-15-23 at 10 a.m. in person. Defendant scheduled to successfully complete inpatient treatment on Friday if so, is directed to return to the jail and the parties will agree that time to have the defendant asked on his own recognizance.

 

Layla Schuyler: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 5-26-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Jack Skinner: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 5-15-23 at 10 a.m. 6-2-23 hearing vacated.

 

Juan Starks: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 7-17-23 at 10 a.m. State has made plea offer.

 

William Steinkuehler: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, final pretrial hearing scheduled for 10-24-23 at 1:15 p.m. Jury trial scheduled for 11-6-23 at 8:30 a.m. Both hearings are in person. Parties ordered to file pretrial motions at least 30 days before the jury trial to be heard at the final pretrial hearing. Trial in abstentia admonition given.

 

Sterling Thomas: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 5-16-23 at 10 a.m. Case called for hearing on Defendant's motion to modify probation conditions. Arguments heard. Motion granted. On a temporary basis, and until further order of court, Defendant shall be permitted to leave the state of Illinois for employment purposes only after giving notice of all required information from the probation department to the probation department and approval by probation who shall not deny the motion solely because a PTR is pending.
