A slow first quarter may have had Taylorville nervous, but a 16-5 run in the second quarter would help seal the deal as Taylorville would defeat Apollo Conference rival Mt. Zion 54-31. Taylorville officially also won the Apollo Conference tonight with their victory and looks to continue their winning ways in the playoffs. Addison Tarr, Kyleigh Heimsness, and Mazie Fleming were all named Players of the Game tonight in the final regular season game. Heimsness would hit a huge three-point shot at halftime from beyond halfcourt.
The Taylorville Lady Tornadoes finish 24-6, 10-0 on the season. They wait for their opponent on Tuesday evening, February 13th at Springfield Southeast at 6 PM.
