Taylorville Girls Pick Up Share Of Apollo Conference Championship With Win Over Charleston

The Taylorville Lady Tornadoes secured their 20th victory of the season, picking up a 71-51 victory over the Charleston Trojans on Monday night on Senior Night at the Dolph.  Juniors Addison Tarr and Kyleigh Heimsness picked up 20 points each and the Tornadoes secured at least a share of the Apollo Conference Championship.  If the Tornadoes can beat the Mattoon Green Wave tomorrow they will secure their first Apollo Conference Championship since 2015. Charleston kept the score close for the most part with 10 threes but the Tornadoes would use a balanced attack and a heavy rebound day to secure the win.

The Tornadoes have a busy week this week with games against Mattoon, Mahomet, and Mt Vernon all in Taylorville. A big shout out to the seniors of the team, Megan Cjakowski, Hallie Lowis, Lulu Woodward, Jessi Wright, and Aubrey Kietzman.

Heimsness was named the Brandon Bible Country Financial Player of the game. The Tornadoes take on Mattoon tomorrow evening. The pregame show will take place around 7:15 PM.
