Christian County Court Cases 7/21/23

The following cases were heard on July 21st, 2023:

 

Sherrie Allcorn: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. Defendant waives arraignment, denies the allegations in the Petition to Revoke. PTR hearing set 9/19/23 at 11 a.m. in person. Defendant admonished as to hearing in her absence.

 

Cheri Cott: Parties present by counsel. Defendant currently in treatment on furlough. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8/22/23 at 10 a.m. in all pending matters.

 

Lucas Fenton: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8/28/23 at 10 a.m. Additional discovery ongoing.

 

Jacob Garrett: Defendant present pro se and State's Attorney present. Defendant requests additional time to hire private counsel. By agreement, first appearance with counsel continued to 9/21/23 at 10 a.m. Time chargeable to Defendant.

 

Leanna Grissom: Defendant fails to appear. Notice to appear to issue for 8/22/23 at 10 a.m.

 

Michael Handy: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Defendant knowingly and voluntarily waives preliminary hearing. See written waiver. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty, and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 8/21/23 at 10 a.m.

 

Billy Hulfachor: Defendant present with counsel. AAG Hegarty and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial/possible plea hearing continued to 8/25/23 at 11 a.m. PD has relayed State's plea offer to Defendant and indicates he is inclined to accept it but wants additonal time to consider it.

 

Austin Mayes: Defendant present with Public Defender in custody of the Sheriff and State's Attorney present. PD files petition for Rule to Show Cause which is verified. Rule to Show Cause to issue with hearing set 8/11/23 at 10 a.m. DHS has advised CCSo they anticipate taking custody of Defendant around 8/1/23.

 

Amiee Miller: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, case continued for presentation of negotiated plea on 8/11/23 at 10 a.m.

 

Gilbert Neal: Defendant present pro se and SP Havera present. Defendant recently beca,e employed but is without sufficient resources to hire counsel today. PD appointed subject to reimbursement. First appearance with counsel 8/15/23 at 10 a.m.

 

Jeremy Reiss: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8/25/23 at 10 a.m.

 

Jerry Riggs: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, status hearing set 8/22/23 at 10 a.m., as parties are still negotiating. Motion for disclosure of informant continued generally based upon revised plea negotiations.

 

Ryan Shattuck: State's Attorney present and Defendant present remotely with counsel. Case dismissed on motion of the State.

 

Keith Weller: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8/11/23 at 10 a.m. in all pending matters.

 

Matthew Yattoni: Defendant present by Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, case continued for presentation of negotiated plea on 8/31/23 at 10 a.m. Defendant is in custody in Macon County. Writ to issue if needed.

 

Patricia Miller: Defendant present pro se and State's Attorney present. Defendant admonished regarding charges, penalties, and rights. By agreement, Public Defender appointed to represent Defendant. First appearance with counsel and bond hearing scheduled for 7/25/23 at 10 a.m. Proffer made and probable cause found. Defendant found to be in direct criminal contempt of court for reasons stated on the record and is sentenced to 7 days in jail. Written order to follow.
