Christian County Court Cases 06/20/2023

The following court cases were heard on June 20th, 2023:

 

Robert Abberley: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8-25-23 at 10 a.m. All appearances must be in person. State to make offer.

 

Samantha Abbott: Parties present by counsel. Defendant currently in inpatient treatment. NTA to issue for 8-29-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Nathan Baker: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, final pretrial hearing scheduled for 9-19-23 at 1:15 p.m. Jury trial scheduled for 10-2-23 at 8:30 a.m. Both hearings are in person. Parties ordered to file pretrial motions at least 30 days before the jury trial to be heard at the final pretrial hearing. Trial in abstentia admonition given.

 

Mysean Burden: Defendant present with Public Defender Grigsby and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8-21-23 at 10 a.m. State has made plea offer and answered discovery and PD needs to review same with counsel. Defendant did not make the last appointment with counsel.

 

Christopher Carnahan: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial/plea hearing continued to 7-7-23 at 10 a.m.

 

William Dixon: Defendant present in custody pro se and is a disbled veteran who provides a new address. Special prosecutor not available. Public defender appointed. On motion of the Court, Defendant ordered released on a $5,000 OR bond. First appearance with counsel set for 8-15-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Lucas Fenton: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 7-21-23 at 10 a.m. State has answered dsicovery and made plea offer and PD is reviewing same with client.

 

Billy Hulfachor: Defendant present with counsel. AAG Hegarty and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 7-21-23 at 10 a.m. State made plea offer last week and PD needs to discuss same with client.

 

David Jones: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Defendant knowingly and voluntarily waives preliminary hearing. See written waiver. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty, and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 8-25-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Stacey Karnes: Defendant present with counsel and Assistant State's Attorney present. Defendant knowingly and voluntarily waives arraignment, pleads not guilty, and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 8-28-23 at 10 a.m. Defendant going to inpatient treatment today.

 

Amy Kasper: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty, and demands trial by jury as to Count II. Pretrial hearing and hearing on a petition to modify bond re operation of motor vehicle scheduled for 6-23-23 at 10 a.m. State made offer in March 2023 and will not amend based on Count II.

 

Alisha Manion: Defendant present pro se in person with Assistant Public Defender Grigsby. Defendant admonished and knowingly and voluntarily waives any conflict of interest with Assistant Public Defender Grigsby. SP DePaepe present. Parties have reached a negotiated resolution whereby the current probation order is modified so that Defendant will serve 30 days of electronic home confinement, starting today and the previous term of 300 hours of public service work is vacated.
Further, the parties agree that less the State files any additional pleadings, the current probation order shall expire and the petition to revoke shall automatically withdrawn 30 days from today. Balance to collections.

 

Michael Morrissey: Defendant present with counsel and Special Prosecutor Havera present. By agreement, pretrial hearing scheduled for 8-15-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Ronald Robinson, Jr.: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Case called for preliminary hearing. Officer sworn and testifies. Court finds probable cause. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 8-22-23 at 10 a.m. Writ continued but Defendant anticipates release from IDOC usotdy back to our jail pending bond.

 

Nicholas Rudolph: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. Negotiated plea presented and approved by the Court, whereby Defendant pleads guilty to the charge of possession with intent to deliver cannabis, a class 2 felony. judgment of conviction entered. By agreement, Defendant sentenced to 18 months probation and 4 days in jail with credit for 2 days served. See written orders.

 

Larry Scott: Defendant present remotely from the Illinois Department of Corrections with Public defender and State's Attorney present. Public defender and the process of reviewing transcripts and has a call scheduled with her client later this month to determine whether to amend the pending pro se post-conviction petition. By agreement, status hearing scheduled for 8-29-23 at 10 a.m. Video writ to issue. Defendant to file any amended petitions before the next hearing.

 

Thomas Sipes: Special prosecutor Havera present by phone. Based upon Defendant's medical condition and on motion of the State, Defendant ordered released from custody on a $50,000 OR bond.

 

Jaydin Snow: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, preliminary hearing scheduled for 8-21-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Nikki Snow: Defendant present with Public Defender and SP Havera present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8-15-23 at 10 a.m. Defendant ordered to immediately report to the probation department and submit to a drug and alcohol test. Probation Department ordered to file results under seal with the Clerk and provide copies to all counsel of record.

 

Nicholas Steele: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Defendant knowingly and voluntarily waives preliminary hearing. See written waiver. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty, and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 7-25-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Louquaris Sullivan: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Defendant knowingly and voluntarily waives preliminary hearing. See written waiver. Defendant waives arraignment, pleads not guilty, and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 8-29-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Dillon Washburn: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 8-28-23 at 10 a.m. in person. State answered discovery and made offer. Defendant had appointment with his attorney yesterday by phone, but had phone issues. He will schedule a new appointment today.

 

Matthew Yattoni: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, case continued for presentation of negotiated plea on 7-21-23 at 10 a.m. Parties have reached an agreement but to review his other pending charges in a different county.
