Area Arrests And Vehicle Crashes For 05/04/2026

The following arrests were reported to Hart Media Group by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office on 05/04/2026

 

On 4/30/26,

 

43-year-old Carmen Carlock of Springfield was arrested by the Pana Police Department for Violation of Order of Protection.
 
On 5/2/26,

 

45-year-old Jacob Johnson of Taylorville was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Aggravated Battery, Arson, Resisting/Obstructing Officer, and Criminal Damage to Property.
 
25-year-old Griffin Smock of Taylorville was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for DUI.
 
On 5/3/26,

 

22-year-old Tyler Godfrey of Pawnee was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for DUI.

 

The Christian County Sheriff's Office also reported the following vehicle crashes to Hart Media Group.

 

On 04/13/26,

 

- 67-year-old Benjamin Tuxhorn, of Edinburg, was traveling west on 1800 North Road when 42-year-old Nicholas Nel, of Edinburg, was traveling east on 1800 North Road. Nel was driving a tractor and also pulling farm equipment when Tuxhorn and Nel’s equipment struck each other while passing.

 

On 04/18/26,

 

- 35-year-old Tiffany Garcia,  of Taylorville, was driving south on IL RT 48 when the vehicle traveled off the road and into a field.

 

- 55-year-old Steven Kuntzman, of Mount Auburn, was traveling south on 1600 East Road, and 35-year-old Julie Borjon, of Rochester, was traveling east on County Highway 2. Kuntzman failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled out into the intersection, striking Borjon. Borjon then lost control and slid into the south ditch on the property at the southeast corner of the intersection. Borjon then struck a fence on the property and came to a stop.

 

On 04/21/26,

 

- 28-year-old Keenen Graham, of Taylorville, was traveling south on Route 29 while approaching 700 North Road in Millersville. Meanwhile, another vehicle in front of Graham was turning left. Graham swerved off the roadway to avoid rear-ending the vehicle attempting to turn left. Graham's vehicle hit a stop sign as it drove off the roadway.
 

- 60-year-old Don Pembroke, of Taylorville, was traveling south on 1600 East Road when a deer entered the roadway. Pembroke was unable to avoid a collision and struck the deer

 
On 04/23/26,

 

- 67-year-old Janet Cook, of Macon, was traveling east on 1900 North Road. As Cook stopped at the intersection of 1900 North 2700 East, 51-year-old Gary Craft, of Moweaqua, entered Cook’s lane while rounding the curve, causing Craft to collide into Cook.

 
On 04/26/26,

 

- 46-year-old Michael Janyne, of Moweaqua, was traveling east on 2050 North Road. 67-year-old Randall Webel, of Quincy, was pulling a camper while traveling west on 2050 North Road. Jayne did not maintain his lane and crossed the center line, striking Webel. Jayne first struck Webel in the driver's side mirror and then struck the camper.

 

On 04/28/26,

 

- 74-year-old Joseph Thull, of Pana, was traveling north on 2300 East Road and 1764 North when he drove through standing water across the road and continued north. Thull then drove into more water that was spanning across the road, causing the vehicle to stall in the water, requiring a tow truck to come remove his vehicle from the water.

 

- 19-year-old Jakob Dobyns, of Taylorville, was driving east on IL RT 16 when he left the road for unknown reasons. Dobyns’ vehicle then spun sideways, striking a utility pole on the rear driver’s side before coming to a stop in the ditch.
