The following was reported to Hart Media Group by the Taylorville Police Department.
On 03/20/26:
Jonathan T. Freeman and Tanya M. Stevens were both traveling southbound on North Cheney. Stevens was stopped at the stoplight when Freeman, while distracted, failed to stop, striking the rear end of Stevens’ vehicle with the front end of their vehicle. Both parties refused medical treatment and both vehicles were driven away from the scene.
On 03/25/26:
Bowen M. Logue and Charley J. Law were traveling southbound in the 1000 block of Springfield Road in Taylorville. Logue was in the left lane, and Law was in the right lane. As Logue began attempting to merge into the right lane he struck the front drivers side of Laws vehicle with the front passenger side of his vehicle. Logue refused medical treatment and Law was transferred via Dunn’s Ambulance to Taylorville Memorial Hospital
On 03/26/26:
Kimberly S. Sablotny was traveling eastbound on Springfield Road. When Sablotny approached the intersection of Springfield Road and Cheny Street, Sarah E. Enlow turned south onto Cheny Street off of Springfield Road. Enlow’s turn was made in front Sablotny, causing Sablotny to strike the front passenger side just behind the tire of Enlow’s vehicle with the front end of of her car. Sablotny refused medical treatment and Enlow was transferred by Dunn’s Ambulance with minor personal injuries to Taylorville Memorial Hospital
On 03/28/26:
Both Joseph E. Smith and Lani N. Reed were traveling northbound on Webster Street. Both drivers attempted to turn eastbound onto East Park Street, Reed slowed down with traffic and Smith failed to slow down causing him to strike the rear end of Reeds vehicle. Both vehicles drove away from the scene.
On 04/03/26:
Margaret K. Verardi and Jonna M. Sapetti were both parked on West Main Cross Street on the Taylorville Town Square. Sapetti was parked facing southwest, and Verardi was parked facing northwest. Sapetti backed out and angled her vehicle to travel westbound, slowed and prepared to begin driving westbound down Main Cross Street. While Sapetti was slowed, Verardi began to back out of their parking space, striking Sapetti’s rear passenger door with the back end of their vehicle.
Both vehicles were driven away from the scene.
On 04/04/26
An unidentified driver and Collin A. Shoemaker were in a vehicle accident in front of Walmart in Taylorville. Shoemaker was attempting to turn northwest onto Springfield Road. The unidentified driver was already traveling northwest on Springfield road, as the unidentified driver attempted to pass Shoemaker, the unidentified driver side swiped shoemaker. Both drivers pulled over, Shoemaker remained in his vehicle during the entirety of being pulled over. The unidentified driver told Shoemaker there was no damage to which Shoemaker believed him. Upon arriving at home, Shoemaker noticed damage to the front passenger side of his vehicle. The other driver has yet to be identified.

On 3/27/26:
Aaron L. Whitaker, age 39, of Taylorville, was arrested on a Warrant.
On 3/28/26:
Raelene A. Kupgisch, age 35, of Taylorville, was arrested on a Warrant.
On 3/29/26:
Brandie L. Nelson, age 36, of Taylorville, was arrested for Domestic Battery.
On 3/30/26:
Brianna A. Young, age 20, of Taylorville, was arrested for Domestic Battery.
Gage M. Allard, age 20, of Taylorville, was arrested for Domestic Battery.
Briar D. Samson, age 31, of Taylorville, was arrested on a Warrant.
On 3/31/26:
Amanda D. Johanningmeier, age 35, of Taylorville was arrested for Residential Burglary, Criminal Trespass, and Violation of Pre-Trial Release.
Abigail H. Copley, age 25, of Taylorville, was arrested for Public Intoxication.
On 4/02/26:
Jennie E. Easter, age 41, of Witt Illinois, was arrested on a Warrant.
On 4/04/26:
Carter R. Newberry, age 18, of Taylorville, was arrested for DUI.
On 04/04/26:
Bryce Brockelsby, 28, of Edinburg was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Criminal Damage to Property.
On 04/07/26:
Hailey Collins, 30, of Pana was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Methamphetamine.
Shanna Scribner, 35, of Pana was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Methamphetamine.
