Area Arrests And Accidents 12/5/25

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

12/1/25

Michael Gonzales, 22, of Taylorville was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Burglary.


11/18/25 at 6:11 p.m.

Johanna William, 41, of Taylorville was traveling south on 1250 East RD when a deer entered the roadway. The driver was unable to avoid the deer and the vehicle struck the deer causing damage to the front of the vehicle.

 

11/21/25 at 7:31 a.m.

Cheryl Herron, 59, of Jacksonville was traveling eastbound on County Road 2675 North when it struck a deer in the roadway. The collision caused disabling damage and the vehicle was towed from the scene by Kertow’s Towing.

 

11/22/25 at 5:38 p.m.

Evelyn Waddell, 19, of Pawnee was traveling on IL RT 104 when a deer entered the roadway. The driver was unable to avoid striking the deer and caused damage to the front of the vehicle.

 

11/24/25 at 7:30 a.m.

Zane Finfrock, 23, of Decatur was traveling east on 1780 North RD at 1940 East when a cow had gotten out of the pasture and entered the roadway. The driver of the vehicle was unable to avoid the cow and struck it.

 

11/27/25 at 8:53 p.m.

Justin Bilyeu, 42, of Taylorville (Unit 1) was backing out of a parking spot on the north side of the Taylorville Square. Christian Nelson, 34, of Taylorville (Unit 2) was traveling west around the square. The driver of Unit 1 did not see Unit 2 when he backed out. The rear of Unit 1 hit the passenger side of Unit 2. Unit 2 received damage to the rear passenger door and Unit 1 did not have any visible damage.

 

11/28/25 at 3:15 p.m.

Kenneth Buchanan, 70, of Taylorville was traveling south on 1250 East RD when he hit a deer with the front bumper of his vehicle.

 

11/29/25 at 10:36 a.m.

Vincent Harris, 28, of Taylorville was traveling south on IL RT 48 when the driver lost control causing the vehicle and attached trailer to jackknife. The vehicle was stuck in the snow and was pulled out by Kertow’s Towing.

 

11/29/25 at 3:50 p.m.

Connor Henley, 19, of Kincaid (Unit 2) was plowing snow in the northbound lane at 1800 North and 1300 East RD when he started into the curve on 1300 East RD. The driver lost control due to adverse road conditions and skidded to a stop in the southbound lane. Cherokee Goodrich, 26, of Mt. Auburn (Unit 1) was traveling in the same direction, lost control and collided with Unit 2 as the driver attempted to proceed around in the northbound lane.
