Area Arrests And Accidents 10/24/25

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News; 

 

10/12/25

Christa Sharer of Edinburg was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Driving Under the Influence.

 

Lillian Van Winsen, 19, of Mt. Auburn was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Threatening Public Official.

 

10/13/25

Randall Fletcher, 52, of Decatur was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Driving with Suspended License.

 

10/20/25

Charles Brandt, 20, of Taylorville was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department or Aggravated Domestic Battery/Strangle and Unlawful Restraint.

 

10/21/25

Charles Overla, 47, of Decatur was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Unlawful Use of Weapon and Aid/Abet/Poss/Sell Stolen Vehicle.

 

CRASHES

 

10/7/25 at 2:18 a.m.

A minor of Taylorville was driving and struck a tree and the vehicle caught fire. Crash is currently under investigation by ISP Crash Reconstruction.

 

10/15/25 at 7:52 a.m.

Kylie Myers, 19, of Chatham (Unit 1) and Jessica Stephens, 37, of Mt. Auburn (Unit 2)

Unit 1 was traveling west on 2000 North RD at the intersection with 1300 East RD (County Highway 22). Unit 2 was traveling south on 1300 East RD at the intersection with 2000 North RD when Unit 1 failed to stop at the stop sign and continued into the intersection. The front end of Unit 1, hit Unit 2 in the driver front side and Unit 2 went off the roadway to the southwest. Unit 2 went through the ditch and into the field. Unit 2 continued out of control and overturned multiple times before coming to rest on its wheels. Unit 1 spun out to the southwest and traveled through the ditch and came to rest partially in the ditch and the field.

 

10/15/25 at 5:19 p.m.

Mary Johnson, 90, of Nokomis (Unit 1) and Damon Leisure, 55, of Hillsboro (Unit 2)

Unit 1 was traveling west on 1300 North RD and Unit 2 was traveling north on 1300 East RD when Unit 1 failed to yield the right of way and entered into oncoming traffic when Unit 2 hit Unit 1 on the driver’s side door. Unit 1 then spun around and came to a stop facing south off the road west on 1300 East RD and Unit 2 came to a stop east of the road on 1300 East RD.

 

10/21/25 at 8:25 a.m.

Mary Mundhenke, 60, of Taylorville was traveling south on County 1, just south of 900 North RD when multiple deer ran into the roadway hitting the vehicle.

 

10/22/25 at 6:50 a.m.

Arlana Henley, 45, of Taylorville was traveling south on 700 East RD at about 1540 North when the driver saw several deer off the east side of the roadway. The driver slowed to a near stop because of the deer; 3 deer ran off to the east and the other deer ran west into the roadway and ran into the vehicle. The deer hit the vehicle  on the front of the diver side mirror and went down the diver side of the vehicle causing damage. The vehicle had damage to every panel on the driver side and to the rear bumper.

 

10/22/25 at 6:45 a.m.

Carol Schnieder, 67, of Morrisonville was traveling east on 520 North RD at about 1140 East when a deer entered the roadway from the south and ran into the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle had damage to it in several areas on the passenger side.

Nolee W. Berry, age 18, of Taylorville was arrested for DUI and Illegal Consumption of Alcohol.

 

10/17/25

 

Kaylee McGuire, age 23, of Springfield Illinois, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.

 

Anthony B. Bliss, age 55, of Springfield Illinois, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.

 

Jesse D. Blades, age 46, of Peoria Heights Illinois, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Violation of Pre-Trial Release and Resisting Arrest.

 

10/19/25

 

Megan N. Middleton, age 29, of Taylorville, was arrested for Retail Theft.

 

Levi Ghent-Simpson, age 31, of Taylorville, was arrested on a Warrant.
