The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

8/13/25 at 4:50 a.m.

Dorothy Chesterman, 75, of assumption called into CCSO to advise she hit a deer on 2648 E 1150 North RD causing damage.

8/18/25 at 10:49 p.m.

Zachary Newberry, 38, of Taylorville was traveling south on Spresser St. and failed to slow down at the stop sign and could not negotiate a left had turn. the vehicle struck the raised curb separating the north and south lanes. The vehicle then overturned and came to a rest on its side blocking Route 48.

8/19/25 6:45 a.m.

Conner Gipson, 20, of Mt. Auburn was traveling south on 1300 East RD at 1432 North and swerved to a miss a deer and lost control. The vehicle went off the west side of the roadway and overturned. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Kertow’s Towing.

8/20/25 at 2:28 p.m.

Donald Scroggins, 74, of Pana was traveling south on IL RT 29 in Sharpsburg when the driver lost control of the vehicle at 1859 North and exited the roadway and collided with the ditch embankment on the south side of the roadway entering a corn field.

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

A Juvenile Male, age 17, of Stonington Illinois, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

Jimmy Abberley, age 51, of Pana Illinois, was arrested on a Warrant.

Allan E. Schreier, age 36, of Fisher Illinois, was arrested for Public Intox.
