Officers later located one of the vehicles parked in the old CNB location, now used by the USDA. The driver of that vehicle, Angela Moriarty of Gays, IL told officers she was heading north on North Webster Street when a white truck made a sudden turn into her, striking her vehicle. She pulled off the road into the next parking lot, but the truck did not stop or follow. Officers searched the area for the second vehicle using debris found at the intersection of Webster and Wilson. The suspect vehicle and driver were not found at the scene. Later, the grandmother of the other driver contacted police to say her granddaughter had been driving the truck and had initially waited at a nearby Taco Bell before returning to Kincaid. She was advised to bring both the vehicle and driver to the Taylorville Police Department for further investigation. The driver was identified as Chelsea L. Pellinghelli of Kingwood, Texas.
