The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;
7/5/25 at 2:25 p.m.
Steven Vose, 66, of Bloomington was traveling North on 1400 East Road when the driver stated he fell asleep while driving down the road. The vehicle left the roadway on the west side of the road and crossed the intersection at 2700 North Road and went airborne. the vehicle then landed on the front end before going back into the lanes of traffic. The vehicle rolled multiple times before coming to a rest on the passenger side.
The Taylorville Police Department is reporting the following to Regional Radio News;

Rodney S. Degler, age 54, of Taylorville, was arrested for Battery.

Bret A. Stanley, age 63, of Blue Mound Illinois, was arrested for Public Urination.

Levi M. Durbin, age 25, of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
7/05/25
Arthur D. Harris, age 21, of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.
Ryan E. Clay, age 32, of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.
7/06/25
Yasmyne I. Nasr, age 19, of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.
Rylee D. Shull, age 19, of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.
Jessie N. Mcconnell, age 20, of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.
Taylorville police responded to the following vehicle crashes;
On June 27th at 6:11 PM Taylorville Police responded to a vehicle accident at Ill Route 48 and South Shumway. Ryan E. Ford of Decatur was traveling northeast on IL Route 48, crossing the intersection of 48 and S. Shumway when Sheryl A. Anderson of Taylorville was stopped at the stop sign. Ford proceeded through the intersection, striking Anderson's driver side. Both vehicles were towed.
On June 28th, 2025 at 12:10 AM Taylorville Police responded to an accident at North Cheney. A 17 year old of Taylorville was heading north on the 800 block of Cheney when they left the roadway on the left side striking a power pole. They were transported from the scene to the hospital. They were issued citations for improper lane usage and for illegal transportation of alcohol.
