Alexandra Moss, 20, was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Aggravated Batter in a Public Place.

Victoria Walker, 27, of Windsor was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Driving on a Suspended License and Possession of Methamphetamine.

Raelene A. Kupgisch, age 33, of Taylorville was arrested for Driving Without a Valid Drivers License.

A Juvenile Male, age 13, of Taylorville was arrested for Aggravated Battery and Disorderly Conduct.
Crashes
10/11/24
Unit 1 (Jeremy Dunstan, 33, of Edinburg) was traveling South on IL RT 29 at 700 N RD when Unit 2 (Cassandra Eilers, 42, of Pana) was traveling South on IL RT 29. Unit 2 was attempting to make a let hand turn on to 700 N RD. Unit 1 was attempting to pass Unit 2 in the Northbound lane and struck Unit 2. The driver of Unit 1 was transported to St. John’s Hospital and both vehicles were towed from the scene by Taylorville Towing.

Lisa Seiler, 57, of Owaneco was attempting to leave a parking lot of the Thunderbird Lounge when she backed into the front driver side bumper of a parked vehicle. Lisa Seiler was unaware that she struck the other vehicle and left the scene.

Timothy Mayes, 43, of Taylorville was traveling South on 900 E RD when he struck a deer just North of 1559 North.

Jess M Curtin, age 41, of Taylorville was arrested for DUI.
Taylorville police responded to the following vehicle accidents:
On September 27th, 2024, Taylorville Police Department was dispatched to the area of 400 block of West Vine for vehicle that has hit a electric pole and left the scene. The vehicle was located at the middle of North Clay Street off of West Vine Street. The driver had crashed into an utility pole splitting it the pole all the way down the middle. He had severe damage to the entire front end of the vehicle and all air bags had deployed inside the vehicle. He also had no driver present when units arrived on scene. A tow was requested for the vehicle that was unable to be driven from the location. Police were then contacted by dispatch. The driver arrived at post and admitted to dispatch he had been drinking. The driver, Nathaniel Johnson, was issued three citations for the following charges, no valid insurance, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was also informed he must pay for tow fee and tow bill before the vehicle can be released
On September 29th at 9:29 AM on Illinois Route 48 and youth Spresser Street. Atreau A. Damm of Harvel was traveling north on Illinois Route 48 and Brandon J. Hefner of Taylorville was traveling south on Illinois Route 48 approaching the intersection with South Spresser where the driver wanted to turn left. He said that there were several vehicles coming and when he thought it was clear to make his turn he struck Damm in the intersection. Damm stated he tried to swerve to miss the collision, however could not miss from being struck by Hefner. The force of the collision shoved Damm into the ditch where he struck a culvert before traveling to the other side of the embankment. Hefner was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident
