The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

7/5/24

Johnathan Davidson, 24, of Morrisonville was traveling Northbound on County Highway #5 (TWP RD 675 E), approaching the t-intersection with Township Road 900 N. The driver of stated he fell asleep and proceeded to exit the roadway through the intersection. The vehicle struck a small ditch at the intersection and continued Northbound into a planted corn field. When the driver awoke, he stated he had veered to the right, continuing to drive through a different cornfield, where he eventually exited back onto the roadway, at County Highway #5.

7/14/24

Scott Montgomery, 61, of Mount Auburn was traveling South on 1300 East RD when a deer entered the roadway. The driver was unable to avoid the deer and struck the deer in the roadway.

7/17/24

Jesse Metzger, 35, of Rochester was traveling North in reverse on Sunset BLVD when it struck the driver side of a park vehicle facing South on the Westside of the roadway.

7/19/24

Gregg Shapiro, 58, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL was traveling South on North Main St and failed to obey the stop sign and stuck the vehicle of Donald Dillon, 65, of Flora as it was traveling Southeast on IL RT 29. Gregg Shapiro’s vehicle came to rest in the Southbound lane and Donald Dillon’s vehicle continued in its direction of travel before overturning and striking a sign. Dillon’s vehicle came to rest on its rooftop off the roadway.

7/20/24

Austin Hawkins, 36, of Bloomington was traveling West on 1900 North RD He failed to negotiate the intersection of 1900 North and 2225 East RD and left the roadway on the Westside. Track on scene indicate the vehicle then proceeded through a soybean field, then proceeded East through the field, and then collided with the ditch on the Westside of 2225 East RD. The vehicle was found facing East in the ditch.

A Juvenile Male, age 16, of Stonington Illinois was arrested for Domestic Battery.

7/17/24

Maria D. Gibbs, age 57, of Taylorville Illinois was arrested for Theft under $500.00
