Area Arrests And Accidents 05/30/23

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

Arrests

 

5-27-23 Nathan Pinnell, age 40 0f Morrisonville was arrested by CCSO for FTA warrant : CANC/REVOKE/SUSPEND REGIS/IL/.

 

5-29-23 Jay Duckwitz age, 36, was arrested by CCSO on a warrant for contempt of court.

 

5-29-23 Jill Cagle age, 54, of Kincaid was arrested by CCSO for domestic battery.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

5/27/23
Payton D. Farris, age 20, of Taylorville, was arrested for Illegal Consumption of Alcohol and Resisting Arrest. 

 

5/28/23
Michael J. Alberts, age 39, of Taylorville, was arrested for DUI.

 

5/29/23
Jill T. Beckham, age 42, of Edinburg Illinois, was arrested for Retail Theft.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to the following vehicle accidents:

 

TPD responded to a report of a traffic crash at the intersection of West Spresser Street and North Shumway Street at 5:15 on May 12th. The at-fault driver fled the scene of the crash on foot after a rear-end collision involving another vehicle. When police arrived they found that Amanda Hancock from Taylorville had been struck by Ben Bush of Decatur. Bush had indeed fled the scene abandoning his vehicle.  He was apprehended approximately twenty minutes after the collision and was believed to have been found in an intoxicated state.  The subject refused to submit to field sobriety testing and an alcohol breath test. Bush received four citations; DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and illegal transportation of alcohol.  

 

TPD Responded to a report of a traffic crash on May 25th at 1:04 PM on Spresser and Shumway. Joyce A. Beck of Taylorville was headed west on Spresser Street approaching the intersection of Shumway.  Diane W. Williams of Taylorville was headed north waiting at a red light on Shumway at the intersection of Spresser.  Williams proceed through the intersection when the light turned green.  Police say Beck disobeyed the red light striking Williams. Beck was issued a citation for disregarding a traffic control device.  No injuries were reported.
